Brief Candles

Almost three weeks ago I went to an anniversary party of a rather close colleague (not Polish but from a nearby country) and her Polish husband. They had film of the marriage ceremonies (civil and church) from decades before. They were an extremely well-matched pair and that night they were as happy as the day they married. Earlier today, the husband died suddenly from pulmonary complications releated to the flu.

He had had health problems related to diabetes but had overcome those and until catching the flu was healthier than he’d been in years. He’d never had problems with his lungs.

Nothing much to add, but it’s true – No one on Earth is promised tomorrow….
