Kind of a downer summer so far, the weather in Poland has been chilly and rainy or cloudy and muggy. To remind myself that this is summer I changed the header picture. This is my second favorite beach in Bulgaria as viewed from the balcony of my favorie hotel in Bulgaria.
The beach, by the new town of Nessebar, is not an official swimming area and to get to it you have to clamber over a bunch of boulders like a mountain goat. Almost all the swimmers there are Russian speakers who apparently don’t mind the difficulty in access. The water is very clear and there are lots of fish and thousands of little hermit crabs and a few other crabs about two or three inches across. Lots of fun.
The Black Sea, despite it’s name is actually quite pretty in summer. It’s a light green with azure and turquoise highlights in the sun. The water is not very salty but salty enough.
